This event invites community members interested in launching their businesses to attend on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Montgomery College East County Education Center. The radio program will continue to provide information about the upcoming "Jornada Extraordinaria" at the Consulate General of El Salvador. This event aims to enhance customer service availability. In addition to the regular operating hours from Monday to Friday, the consulate will also be open on Saturday, Nov. 16. The office is located at 926 Philadelphia Ave. in Silver Spring. Salvadorans will have the opportunity to apply for a passport, personal identification card, or power of attorney. Consul Rodríguez will share more details during the program.

To conclude the radio program, guests will discuss the connection between Montgomery County, Maryland, and Morazan, El Salvador, which became sister cities in 2011. This relationship fosters mutual understanding and partnership through cultural, educational and economic exchanges. To support the academic development of the youth in Morazan, the Asociación para el Desarrollo Educativo en El Salvador (ADEES), which played a significant role in the agreement between the two regions, will host a fundraising event on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 6 p.m. The event will take place at the Montgomery College Takoma Park campus and will feature dancing, raffles and dinner. The event aims to support academic development among youth in Morazan.

The Montgomery County Council and Radio America have entered a partnership that provides the Latino community with key information on issues and programs. The partnership also provides a forum for residents to express their views and ask questions. The partnership includes the weekly one-hour show each Friday on the Washington metropolitan area’s most popular Spanish language station.

Each week, the show features host Marcela Rodriguez, Council program manager and public information officer, and guests talking about important issues before the Council and provides information about programs offered by the County to help residents.
